The dates that are already spoken for
If you want a Saturday in the second half of June 2027 at one of the big-name venues, you're probably too late for a couple of them. Not all. But Amante and Atzaró have been taking 2027 bookings since spring, and their peak Saturdays went first. We know because we've had three couples this month ask if we're free on dates they've already secured there, and we've been able to say yes each time, but that's us. The venue was the hard part.
September is the other one. It's quietly become the month everyone wants. Same weather as June, the sea's warmer, the island's calmer, and the flights are cheaper. Our September 2026 Saturdays were full by February. September 2027 is filling faster.
July and August are a bit different. There's more capacity because there's more of everything (more venues open, more suppliers working) but it's hotter, pricier, and the island is heaving. Plenty of people want it anyway. Those dates are going, just not as fast.
What books up first (it's not what you'd think)
The venue, obviously. Everyone knows that. What people don't expect is that the second thing to go is usually the photographer. The good ones in Ibiza are booked a year out, sometimes more, and there aren't that many of them. If you've got someone in mind, email them this week.
After that, it's the suppliers with physical kit and one team. That's us, the DJs, the bands, the florists with a van. We can only be in one place on a Saturday. We had two enquiries for the same September 2026 date and could only take one. For 2027 we've already got a handful of dates pencilled and a couple confirmed.
Catering, hair and makeup, cars, celebrants: these have more flexibility, more people doing them, and they tend to book later. Not never. But you've got a bit more room.
If it's not a wedding
Brand events and corporate bookings run on a different clock. Most of the ones we did this year were confirmed six to ten weeks out, not six months. That's normal. Marketing budgets get signed off quarterly and the event follows.
The catch is that the venues brands want (the beach clubs, the rooftops, the hotels with a terrace) have their own events calendar, and the good slots go to whoever asks first. If you know you're doing something in Ibiza in 2027, even without a date, it's worth telling the venue now. They'll hold a window. And it's worth telling us, because a booth wrapped in your brand colours needs a couple of weeks of proofing before the day, and that's easier to fit in when we're not in the middle of July.
Hen dos and villa parties are the most flexible of the lot. Book the villa early because that's the thing that runs out. Everything else you can sort in the spring.
What we'd do in your position
Sort the venue and the photographer before Christmas. Those two set the date and the look. Everything else fits around them.
Then, in January, have a look at entertainment. Don't leave it till the spring on the assumption that suppliers will have space. Some will. The ones you actually want might not. One last thing
Booking early isn't about getting a better deal. It's about the date being yours, and being able to stop thinking about it. Every couple we've worked with who sorted their suppliers before Christmas has said the same thing in the spring: it was the best decision they made. The ones who left it have spent March on the phone.
